Working with us

The staff team at Rydal Hall is complemented by our resident international community. Living, serving and learning together, new friendships are formed, new skills learned and an environment is created for houseguests that is truly valued and life changing.

We have up to 12 community members living on site at any one time in addition to staff team members who live locally. Community members commit to serve for anything from six months to two years, working an average of 30 hours per week in all areas of the Hall: housekeeping, front of house, Tea Shop and estates and maintenance.

Community members also attend chapel services, community meetings and social events so we can pray, worship, learn, get to know each other and enjoy each other’s company.

We ask that applicants have a reasonable level of spoken English when they arrive, in order to be able to communicate with fellow team members and guests. English Lessons are available locally as well as a club for people from different countries to get together and practice speaking English.

Vacancies for staff and community arise at various times of the year so we have a rolling recruitment programme.
