Easter House Party 2019

Easter House Party 2019

22nd April 2019

We have had a great time celebrating Jesus’s resurrection.

Outdoor worship

On Good Friday morning, with the sun shining, guests and local people joined us for outdoor worship led by Revd Sue Williams, followed by hot cross buns.

Rydal Water

In the afternoon, some of our guests joined Rydal’s resident guide, Steve Watts, for a walk from Rydal grounds along the Coffin Route to Grasmere, Loughrigg Terrace, Rydal Caves and then back to Rydal Hall.

Ullswater Steamer

On Saturday after breakfast, there was a boat trip on the Ullswater Steamer. Guests caught the 12.15 boat from Glenridding to Pooley Bridge, where they had a 45-minute break to enjoy the beautiful scenery, weather and lunch. They re-boarded at 2 pm arriving at Glenridding at 3 pm.

Prosecco Reception

On Easter Sunday some guests went to Rydal Church and others to St Ostwald’s in Grasmere and after the service, they had a free morning until 1 pm when they met again for a celebration roast lunch in our dining room.

Outside the chapel, the sun was still shining and guests enjoyed a prosecco reception before going back to the drawing room to enjoy a very tasty high tea and Simnel cake.

High Tea

On the last evening of the Easter House Party, guests enjoyed a talent show, with poems, songs and comedy.

We look forward to having you all back next year!
