Cumbria Green Build Festival

4th October 2018

Cumbria Action for Sustainability (CAFS) is a charity based in Penrith who works with individuals, businesses and communities to help them become more sustainable.

Every year CAFS organises throughout Cumbria The Cumbria Green Festival, with thirty events to help people green up their homes, businesses or communities.

As part of this event Rydal Hall was one of the three stops on of the Green Bus Tour, on Thursday 4th October. A group of 28 people came and had a tour around the Estates where, Martin Scrowston, the Estates Manager, show them the old turbine and then the new one.

This Hydro turbine was finalised in October 2015 and it generates electricity in harmony with the environment and is a major contributor to the National Park’s Low Carbon Vision
