Our two walking leaders Alan and Marilyn, a blue badge guide, have been leading walks in the Lake District for several years. Providing a wide range of walks to suit all abilities, ages and group sizes.
Early spring is the time to capture the delights and history of the Lake District. Four days of walking which take us through valleys, woodlands, meadows, and alongside rivers and lakes. Our walks will also take in villages and hamlets with history, architecture, flora and fauna.
Join us for four days of moderate walks 8 – 10 miles long.
Some information about your walk.....
Length: the walks will be 8-10 miles long
Pace: it is a moderate walking pace….not fast or slow.
Terrain: the terrain does vary depending on the walks; rough paths, tree roots, stiles, wet underfoot etc
Ascent/Decent: these vary depending on the walks but you will climb between 500- 600ft in the course of the day on some days.
Areas covered: three of the walks will be in the central lakes and these will cover…Rydal, Grasmere, Loughrigg, Elterwater, Chapel Style, Tarn Hows, Hawkshead, Windermere and part of Coniston area.
The other walk covers a more northern lake which is Derwentwater.
Lakes/Falls: the lakes that we will either pass or see from a distance are; Derwentwater, Rydal, Grasmere, Elterwater, Thirlmere, Tarn Hows, Esthwaite Water, Belham Tarn, plus waterfalls..Colwith Force, Skelwith Force and Lodore Falls.
Transport: we will be using the local buses so please bring you bus passes if you have one. The cost of public transport is included in the price.
Refreshment stops: the walks will always allocate breaks and lunch stops.
Clothing: please bring sensible walking gear.
